Welcome Mecannical

After a legal issue with my previous blog name (see here) , I am relaunching my site under a new and improved identity. As my work expands into several fields of expertise I was searching for a name that embraces the purpose of every piece of work in my portfolio. I should also be a catchy name, simple to pronounce and communicate in several languages. It should also be versatile enough to be used in a funky, artistic collage and remain formal and minimalistic to portray the elegance of structured data. Finally, it should have a cool, stylish edge. One which would make any sports vehicle proud to wear on its engine.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you:

Why did I choose a word portraying mechanics in a futuristic world powered by electronics? Well… because we live in a inherently physical universe in which every single action inside a transistor, or the firing of a neuron in our brains, are mechanical reactions at subatomic levels. Of course you could argue that advanced physics don’t behave under the common laws of mechanics and such, but hey… there’s a reason it’s called Quantum M e c h a n i c s. And if for some reason you could make the “quantum computing non mechanical time machine”, you’d still need a mechanical push button to turn in on =)

The logo is composed by the word mecannical with a double ‘n’ which are facing each other. These two n’s when distorted into a circle form a batlike ‘M’ that stands for Mecannical and for the symbol. Hope you like it! let me hear what you think about the design in the comments.
